Auslan Lessons:

Sister Kylee, who has a Bachelor's in Education and is a regular pioneer, will take an Auslan class in 2025.
Learning Auslan Sign Language in childhood helps kids improve communication skills and have stronger connections with others. It also helps them express their thoughts, feelings and needs more efficiently, enhancing their social skills and self-confidence. This course is designed to introduce children to the exciting world of Sign language! Being a visual language, the content of this course will include a workbook for weekly lessons, videos along with pictures, and interactive activities and games will also be featured.
In the first term of 2025, we will learn the Alphabet, numbers, introductions, and simple greetings, to name just a few.
A little about me:
My name is Kylee, and I am a tutorial teacher with over 10 years of experience. I have a Bachelor's in education and family and human services, along with qualifications in coaching and mentoring. I currently work as an education support worker at a Special School. As a family, we moved to Melbourne 2 years ago to support the need in the Auslan Sign Language group in a West Melbourne congregation. A family member of mine was born hard of hearing. As I also developed a hearing loss, I became passionate about using Auslan Sign Language to turn my own experience into a positive and reach those in the ministry who are isolated due to hearing loss and deafness.
